California Court of Appeal

Christian Research Institute v. Alnor, G039424

In proceedings following a successful anti-SLAPP motion to strike, judgment for plaintiffs reducing defendant's compensable attorney time from 600 hours to 71 hours is affirmed where: 1) substantial evidence supported a conclusion that defendant counsel raised the fee request with noncompensable hours and vague, indecipherable billing statements, which destroyed the credibility of the submission; and 2) this justified a severe reduction.
