California Court of Appeal

Zanone v. City of Whittier, B189567

In a case wherein jury awarded a former police officer $1.25 million on claims of sex discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, judgment is affirmed over claims that the trial court erroneously: 1) permitted plaintiff to quote from a chief's memorandum, which was located in an officer's personal file, but was not disclosed to plaintiff pursuant to procedures specified in Evidence Code sections 1043 and 1046; and 2) refused to admit documents pertaining to exit interviews with former officers based on inadmissible evidentiary grounds.
