Conviction and sentence for possession of a weapon while confined in a penal institution is affirmed over claims that: 1) the trial court erred by failing to sua sponte instruct on duress and self-defense; and 2) alternatively, defense counsel provided ineffective representation by failing to request instructions on these two defenses.
