Goldstein v. Superior Ct. (Grand Jury of the County of L.A.), B199147

In connection with federal civil rights action alleging wrongful murder conviction, petition for writ of mandate challenging order of trial court denying petitioner access to evidentiary materials received by certain grand juries during their investigation into the misuse of jailhouse informants over the preceding 10 years is granted where the trial court has discretion to grant petitioner's motion if he is able to demonstrate that disclosure is necessary for the purposes of public justice, or for the protection of private rights.
