California Court of Appeal
Matthau v. Superior Ct. (William Morris Agency, LLC), B194637
In dispute over commissions on profit participation payments between the William Morris Agency and the son of late-actor Walter Matthau, grant of talent agency's motion to compel arbitration with the son and a loan out company under contracts with the deceased actor is vacated where neither the son nor the loan out company were parties to any of the agreements under which the talent agency sought arbitration, and where none of the legal principles under which a nonsignatory may be bound to another's agreement to arbitrate applied.
