California Court of Appeal
People v. Ranger Ins. Co., G036803
Summary judgment against a surety on a forfeited bond is affirmed where: 1) denial of surety's motion to extend the exoneration period for a forfeited bond was proper based on the minimal efforts the surety demonstrated prior to the expiration of the exoneration period; 2) the court properly declined to consider supplemental information on the defendant's whereabouts that was obtained only after the expiration of the exoneration period; and 3) consequently, a motion to vacate forfeiture was properly denied as well.
