California Court of Appeal

People v. Macklem, D046806

Defendant's convictions for first degree murder of his girlfriend and for assault with a deadly weapon involving a jailhouse attack on an inmate are affirmed where: 1) there was no violation of Miranda principles for purposes of a claim that trial court prejudicially erred in denying a motion to suppress incriminating statements he made during an interview with a detentions unit detective; 2) the charges were appropriately joined for trial; and 3) the sentence imposed was correct.
