Chapman v. Superior Court, D045374

An individual who violates Government Code section 1090, which prohibits an officerholder from having a financial interest in any contract made by the public agency of which he is a member, may not, as a matter of public policy, maintain a legal malpractice action against that public agency under a respondeat theory.
