PEOPLE v. MORTON, A101269

Substantial evidence does not support the trial court's conclusion that detectives' entry onto private property was justified by the community caretaking exception to the search warrant requirement. Detectives had no basis for concluding the marijuana belonged to defendants, that they were growing marijuana, or that a violent drug theft had occurred.
