PEOPLE v. RIVERA, H023879

The trial court did not err in permitting defendant to be impeached with a prior offense of possession of a deadly weapon with the intent to commit an assault, as such a crime generates a synergy that represents a degree of public harm significantly greater than simple assault or simple drug possession.
