The interpretation of "damages" from Certain Underwriters at Lloyd's of London v. Superior Court (2001) 24 Cal.4th 945 (Powerine I), was properly applied to plaintiff's policy to exclude from coverage costs from nonlitigated claims arising out of its contamination of groundwater.
