The analysis in Prudential-LMI Com. Insurance v. Superior Court, 51 Cal.3d 674 (1990), was fully applicable to a bad faith insurance case involving cataclysmic earthquake damage, and precludes determining inception of the loss solely by the date of the occurrence of the physical event causing the loss.
