California Court of Appeal

CALIFORNIA APARTMENT ASSOC. v. CITY OF FREMONT, A095016

Health & Safety Code section 17958, stating that California's Building Standards Code becomes effective 180 days after publication of any new version, does not preclude cities from making amendments, additions, or deletions to it more than 180 days after publication; rejection of appellants' claim that city ordinance requiring automatic fire sprinklers in certain apartment buildings is void, having been adopted outside the 180-day period.
