PHILLIPS v. ST. MARY REG-L MED. CTR., E029143

Where plaintiff claimed that defendant violated the public policy set forth in the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), article I, section 8 of the California Constitution (Section 8), and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII), defendant's sustained demurrer was reversed, because although plaintiff's reliance on FEHA was rejected, Section 8 and Title VII are alternative sources of public policy sufficient to support plaintiff's common law cause of action for wrongful termination.
