California Court of Appeal
PEOPLE v. SMITH, C037999
Where there was a warrantless search of a home, consented to by one of the male residents, and the officers limited their search only to the room occupied by the male, and searched only those items over which they reasonably believed defendant had complete or joint control, there was no basis to suppress the evidence, even if the officers searched a "feminine" object, the defendant's purse, and uncovered illegal drugs.
