RISHARD WHITE, Appellant v. FELICIA L. MALOY, Appellee
MEMORANDUM OPINION
This is an appeal from the trial court's July 20, 2016 final judgment for a protective order. The notice of appeal was due August 19, 2016 or, with a timely extension motion, September 6, 2016. See TEX. R. APP. P. 26.1(a), 26.3. It was filed on August 18, 2017.
At our request, the appellant filed a letter brief addressing our jurisdiction. See id. 25.1(b); Chilkewitz v. Winter, 25 S.W.3d 382, 382 (Tex. App.—Fort Worth 2000, no pet.) (per curiam) (timely filing of notice of appeal is jurisdictional). However, nothing in appellant's letter brief demonstrates we have jurisdiction over this appeal. Accordingly, we dismiss the appeal. See TEX. R. APP. P. 42.3(a); Chilkewitz, 25 S.W.3d at 382.
