MEMORANDUM OPINION
On December 16, 2016, we ordered appellant to file his brief on the merits no later than January 16, 2017. When appellant's brief was not filed as ordered, we notified appellant by postcard dated January 18, 2017, that failure to file his brief within ten days would result in the dismissal of his appeal. To date, appellant has not filed his brief or otherwise corresponded with this Court regarding the status of this appeal.
Consequently, we dismiss this appeal. See TEX. R. APP. P.38.8(a)(1); 42.3(b)(c).
