Lorenzo Springer, Plaintiff-Respondent, v. Aminov Jewelers, Defendant-Appellant.
Per Curiam.
Judgment (Eliezer Rodriguez, J.), entered September 11, 2025, affirmed, without costs.
A judgment rendered in the Small Claims Part of the Civil Court will be sustained on appeal unless it is shown that "substantial justice has not been done between the parties according to the rules and principles of substantive law" (CCA 1807; see Williams v Roper, 269 AD2d 125, 126 [2000], lv dismissed 95 NY2d 898 [2000]). Applying that limited standard of review here, we find no basis to disturb the trial court's award of $8,000 to plaintiff. A fair interpretation of the evidence supports the finding that plaintiff purchased a Rolex watch from defendant for $8,000 and that when plaintiff tried to resell the watch, it was confiscated by the NYPD because it was stolen property. The Court rationally determined from the evidence that "the Rolex seized by the NYPD was the same watch sold by defendant [to plaintiff]."
All concur.
