James Patrick BOYD, Appellant, v. GO AUTO INSURANCE COMPANY, a Louisiana Limited Liability Company, Respondent.
ORDER DISMISSING APPEAL
On March 16, 2026, this court issued a notice informing appellant to, among other things, file and serve a docketing statement within 21 days, and an opening brief within 120 days. Appellant attempted to file an informal brief on March 19, 2026, however, it was stricken as deficient and appellant was reminded the corrected brief remained due by July 14, 2026.
When appellant failed to file the docketing statement, this court issued an order on April 8, 2026, directing appellant to file and serve the docketing statement by April 15, 2026. Appellant attempted to file the docketing statement on April 10, 2026, however, it was stricken as deficient and appellant was ordered to file a corrected docketing statement by April 29, 2026. When appellant failed to file the corrected docketing statement, this court issued an order on May 4, 2026, directing appellant to file and serve the corrected docketing statement by May 11, 2026. Appellant again attempted to file the docketing statement on May 9, 2026, however on May 12, 2026, this court entered an order striking the docketing statement because it was deficient. The order directed appellant to correct the deficiencies and re-file a docketing statement that conforms with the rules by May 15, 2026, and cautioned that failure to comply could result in the dismissal of this appeal. When appellant failed to file the corrected docketing statement, this court issued an order on June 8, 2026, directing appellant to file and serve the docketing statement by June 15, 2026. The order again cautioned that failure to comply could result in the dismissal of this appeal.
On June 24, 2026, appellant attempted to file the docketing statement but it was rejected because it was untimely and deficient. Appellant was notified to file a compliant docketing statement accompanied by a motion for an extension of time. To date, appellant has failed to file a corrected docketing statement or a motion for extension of time. Appellant has also failed to file the opening brief, which was due on July 14, 2026. Accordingly, as it appears appellant has abandoned this appeal, this court
ORDERS this appeal DISMISSED.
