Jeremy Paul ELLSWOOD, Petitioner, v. The SECOND JUDICIAL DISTRICT COURT of the State of Nevada IN AND FOR the COUNTY OF WASHOE and the Honorable Egan K. Walker, Respondents, and The State of Nevada, Real Party in Interest.
ORDER DENYING PETITION FOR WRIT OF MANDAMUS
This original petition for a writ of mandamus challenges a district court order denying a habeas petition that challenged petitioner's charge of felony escape. Having reviewed the petition and answer to the petition, we decline to exercise our discretion to entertain the petition. See City of Mesquite v. Eighth Judicial Dist. Court, 135 Nev. 240, 242, 445 P.3d 1244, 1248 (2019) (observing that entertaining a writ petition is within the court's discretion).
Specifically, we are not persuaded that an appeal following a final judgment would be an inadequate remedy. See Pan v. Eighth Judicial Dist. Court, 120 Nev. 222, 224, 88 P.3d 840, 841 (2004). Accordingly, we
ORDER the petition DENIED.
