CODY GAMBLE, Petitioner, v. THE EIGHTH JUDICIAL DISTRICT COURT OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, IN AND FOR THE COUNTY OF CLARK; AND THE HONORABLE BRYCE C. DUCKWORTH, DISTRICT JUDGE, Respondents, LEANNE M. NESTER, Real Party in Interest.
ORDER DENYING PETITION FOR WRIT OF MANDAMUS
This original petition for a writ of mandamus challenges the sealing of records in a post-divorce decree proceeding concerning child custody. The court records in the matter were sealed under NRS 125.110(2). Petitioner Cody Gamble filed this writ petition challenging the constitutionality of NRS 125.110(2).
On October 1, 2025, NRS 125.110 was repealed. 2025 Nev. Stat., ch. 505, § 6, at 3332. Thus, Gamble's challenge to NRS 125.110’s constitutionality is now moot. See Personhood Nev. v. Bristol, 126 Nev. 599, 602, 245 P.3d 572, 574 (2010) (explaining that “a controversy must be present through all stages of the proceeding, and even though a case may present a live controversy at its beginning, subsequent events may render the case moot” (citations omitted)). Accordingly, we
