PACIFIC WEST LLC, Petitioner, v. THE EIGHTH JUDICIAL DISTRICT COURT OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, IN AND FOR THE COUNTY OF CLARK AND THE HONORABLE DISTRICT COURT JUDGE TIMOTHY C. WILLIAMS, Respondents, CY 4422Y, LLC, A CALIFORNIA LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY; JOSEPH A. MAGLIARDITI, INDIVIDUALLY; M1 ACCELERATOR LLC, A NEVADA LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY; BLACKBOX CAPITAL, LLC, A NEVADA LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY; MAGS 20, INC., A NEVADA CORPORATION; AND JOSEPH A. MAGLIARDITI, TRUSTEE OF THE JOSEPH A. MAGLIARDITI TRUST U/T/D 7/2/2003, Real Parties in Interest.
ORDER DENYING PETITION FOR A WRIT OF MANDAMUS OR PROHIBITION
This original petition for a writ of mandamus or prohibition challenges a district court order granting a motion in limine in a contract and torts action. Having considered the petition and its documentation, we are not persuaded that our extraordinary and discretionary intervention is warranted. Pan v. Eighth Jud. Dist. Ct., 120 Nev. 222, 228, 88 P.3d 840, 844 (2004) (observing that the party seeking writ relief bears the burden of showing such relief is warranted); Smith v. Eighth Jud. Dist. Ct., 107 Nev. 674, 677, 679, 818 P.2d 849, 851, 853 (1991) (recognizing that writ relief is an extraordinary remedy and that this court has sole discretion in determining whether to entertain a writ petition). Generally, we will not consider writ petitions challenging discovery orders, and we are not persuaded that any exception to the general rule applies here. See Valley Health Sys., LLC v. Eighth Jud. Dist. Ct., 127 Nev. 167, 171, 252 P.3d 676, 678-79 (2011). Accordingly, we
ORDER the petition DENIED.
