IN RE: DISCIPLINE OF ROBERT RICHARD TELLES, BAR NO. 13597.
ORDER OF REFERRAL TO DISCIPLINARY BOARD
This is a petition under SCR 111 concerning attorney Robert Richard Telles, based on his conviction of first-degree murder with use of a deadly weapon, victim 60 years or older, a category A felony in violation of NRS 200.010, 200.030(1), 193.165, and 193.167. For purposes of SCR 111, Telles's felony conviction is a “serious crime.” SCR 111(6). Normally, upon being informed that an attorney has been convicted of a “serious crime,” this court is required to impose an immediate temporary suspension and refer the attorney to the appropriate disciplinary board for a hearing to determine the extent of the discipline to be imposed. SCR 111(7), (8). But here, a temporary suspension is unnecessary because Telles is currently suspended from the practice of law under SCR 102(4)(b).1 Matter of Discipline of Telles, No. 85465, 2022 WL 11457415 (Nev. Oct. 19, 2022) (Order Imposing Temporary Suspension and Restricting Handling of Client Funds). To the extent that Telles's felony conviction is not within the scope of any disciplinary proceedings already pending against him, we refer this matter to the Southern Nevada Disciplinary Board.
It is so ORDERED.
cc: Chair, Southern Nevada Disciplinary Board
Bar Counsel, State Bar of Nevada
Robert Telles
