ORDER DISMISSING APPEAL

This is an appeal from a district court order denying a motion to suppress evidence. Eighth Judicial District Court, Clark County; Tierra Danielle Jones, Judge.

On May 31, 2024, this court entered an order directing appellant to show cause why this appeal should not be dismissed for lack of jurisdiction. Appellant responded on June 21, 2024. Upon review of the arguments in appellant's response, this court concludes it does not have jurisdiction over this appeal. As stated in this court's prior order, only the State may appeal from a district court pretrial order granting or denying a motion to suppress evidence. NRS 177.015(2). The right to appeal is statutory; where no statute or court rule provides for an appeal, no right to appeal exists. Castillo v. State, 106 Nev. 349, 352, 792 P.2d 1133, 1135 (1990). ORDERS this appeal DISMISSED.¹
