IN RE: the Application for Reciprocal Discipline of Kenton C. Cobb (2026)

SUSPENSION ORDERED

[¶1] On June 15, 2026, the Disciplinary Board notified the Supreme Court under N.D.R. Lawyer Discipl. 4.4 that it was recommending the reciprocal discipline of Kenton C. Cobb. The record reflects that the State of Wyoming ordered Cobb be suspended from the practice of law for three months based on violations of Rules 1.1 (competency), 1.3 (diligence), 1.4 (duty to communicate with client), and 8.4(c) (engaging in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation) of the Wyoming Rules of Professional Conduct. Wyoming's suspension began on April 8, 2026.

[¶2] Cobb was admitted to practice law in North Dakota on May 8, 2023.

[¶3] Disciplinary Counsel received notice that Cobb received discipline in Wyoming, and notice was provided to Cobb under N.D.R. Lawyer Discipl. 4.4(B), directing a response regarding the imposition of identical discipline.

[¶4] Cobb responded to the notice, but did not indicate a reason under N.D.R. Lawyer Discipl. 4.4(D) as to why reciprocal discipline should not be imposed.

[¶5] Cobb entered into a stipulation with disciplinary counsel in which he agreed clear and convincing evidence supported the rule violations found by the Wyoming Board. Cobb further stipulated his conduct violated the North Dakota rules and agreed to the recommended sanction of reciprocal discipline. Cobb received notice and an opportunity to be heard and he was afforded due process.

[¶6] On June 10, 2026, the Disciplinary Board filed its recommendation that Cobb be suspended from the practice of law in North Dakota for a period of three months.

[¶7] The Court considered the matter, and

[¶8] IT IS ORDERED that as outlined above, the findings of fact, conclusions of law, and recommendations by the hearing panel are adopted.

[¶9] IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that Kenton C. Cobb is SUSPENDED from the practice of law for three months, effective upon entry of judgment in this matter.

[¶10] IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that Cobb must comply with N.D.R. Lawyer Discipl. 6.3 regarding notice.

[¶11] IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that reinstatement is governed by N.D.R. Lawyer Discipl. 4.5(B).
