State of North Dakota, Plaintiff and Appellee v. Audrey Breuce Rangeloff, Defendant and Appellant
[¶1] Audrey Rangeloff appeals from a criminal judgment entered after a jury convicted her of child neglect. She argues the conviction is not supported by sufficient evidence.
[¶2] “A defendant challenging the sufficiency of the evidence on appeal must show that the evidence, when viewed in the light most favorable to the verdict, reveals no reasonable inference of guilt.” State v. Eggleston, 2026 ND 41, ¶ 2, 31 N.W.3d 671. The conditions of Rangeloff's home formed the basis of the child neglect charge. At trial, the State presented testimony, photographs, and body camera footage from law enforcement describing and displaying the unsafe, unsanitary, and hazardous conditions of the home. Upon review of the record, we conclude sufficient evidence exists for a jury to draw a reasonable inference Rangeloff committed child neglect. We summarily affirm under N.D.R.App.P. 35.1(a)(3).
