STATE of Missouri, Respondent, v. Gene A. BIRDSONG, Appellant.
ORDER
Following a jury trial in the Circuit Court of Jackson County, Gene Birdsong was convicted of one count of murder in the first degree and one count of armed criminal action. Birdsong was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole for the murder charge, and to seventeen years’ imprisonment for armed criminal action. The sentences were ordered to run consecutively. Birdsong appeals. He argues that the evidence was insufficient to support his conviction for first-degree murder, and that the circuit court erroneously admitted into evidence two recordings of his jailhouse phone calls with a witness. We affirm. Because a published opinion would serve no jurisprudential purpose, we have provided the parties with an unpublished memorandum setting forth the reasons for this order. Rule 30.25(b).
