Roderick D. ELLIS, Appellant, v. STATE of Missouri, Respondent.
ORDER
Following a jury trial in the Circuit Court of Buchanan County, Roderick Ellis was convicted of kidnapping, first-degree domestic assault, first-degree assault of a law enforcement officer, and two counts of armed criminal action. Following the affirmance of his conviction on direct appeal, Ellis filed a motion for post-conviction relief under Supreme Court Rule 29.15. The circuit court denied relief following an evidentiary hearing. Ellis appeals. He argues that his direct-appeal counsel was ineffective for failing to challenge the circuit court's denial of Ellis’ motion for a mistrial, which was based on comments made by the prosecution during closing argument. We affirm. Because a published opinion would have no precedential value, we have provided an unpublished memorandum to the parties which sets forth the reasons for this order. Rule 84.16(b).
