IN RE: COMMITTEE ON BAR ADMISSIONS CFN-340772
Admission granted. See per curiam.
Petitioner applied to take the October 2020 Louisiana bar examination. However, by letter dated August 4, 2020, the Committee on Bar Admissions (“Committee”) advised petitioner that it could not certify him to take the bar exam on character and fitness grounds. Petitioner then applied to this court for permission to take the bar exam. On September 23, 2020, the court granted petitioner permission to sit for the bar exam, with the condition that, upon his successful completion of the exam, he apply for the appointment of a commissioner to take character and fitness evidence. In re: Committee on Bar Admissions CFN 340772, 20-1071 (La. 9/23/20), 301 So. 3d 1186.
Petitioner successfully passed the February 2021 bar exam. Petitioner then applied to this court, seeking the appointment of a commissioner. We remanded this matter to the Committee on Bar Admissions Panel on Character and Fitness to conduct an investigation and appointed a commissioner to take character and fitness evidence. The primary issue raised during the proceeding was petitioner's history of arrests and his violation of Title IX while in law school.
Following a hearing, the commissioner filed his report with this court, recommending that petitioner be admitted to the practice of law. Neither party objected to this recommendation.
Considering the commissioner's recommendation and the entire record of this proceeding, we conclude petitioner is eligible to be admitted to the practice of law in Louisiana.
ADMISSION GRANTED.
