Jerry CRAFT v. PORTS AMERICA GULFPORT, INC., et al.
Writ denied.
I would grant in part the writ application of Defendant-Applicants Crowley Marine Services, Inc. f/k/a Delta Steamship Lines, Inc. and James J. Flanagan Shipping Corporation. Specifically, I would reverse the court of appeal and reinstate the trial court’s ruling in which Judge Piper Griffin granted judgment notwithstanding the verdict as to the jury’s award of $1,000,000 for future medical expenses. In my view, this accomplished judge correctly ruled that the one million dollar award was based on speculation and insufficient evidence.
