Granted. La. R.S. 40:1231.8(H) provides “either party shall have the right to call, at his cost, any member of the medical review panel as a witness.” This statute is mandatory in nature. Keller v. Touro Infirmary, 2023-00830 (La. 6/17/23), 362 So. 3d 403. Nothing in this statute places any restrictions on the scope of the panel members’ testimony. See Galloway v. Baton Rouge Gen. Hosp., 602 So. 2d 1003, 1007 (La. 1992).
Accordingly, the judgment of the district court limiting the testimony of the medical review panel doctors to those opinions expressed in the medical review panel opinion is reversed. The case is remanded to the district court for further proceedings.
