OIL GAS INC v. << (2025)

Considering the unique circumstances of this matter, including the unexpected illness of plaintiff's expert and the imminent retirement of the judge who has long presided over this suit, and acting in the interest of judicial efficiency, we find the district court did not abuse its great discretion in extending the applicable expert deadline while maintaining the September 22, 2025 trial date.

Accordingly, the writ is granted and made peremptory. The judgment of the court of appeal is reversed insofar as it vacated the September 22, 2025 trial date and remanded for the setting of a new trial date. The judgment of the district court maintaining the September 22, 2025 trial date is reinstated. The case is remanded to the district court for further proceedings.
