Attorney Disciplinary Proceeding

Respondent, Laura T. Marler, an attorney licensed to practice law in Louisiana, is currently the subject of an investigation by the Office of Disciplinary Counsel (“ODC”) based on her arrest on drug possession charges. She is currently on interim suspension. In re: Marler, 23-1303 (La. 10/5/23), 370 So. 3d 1054.

Prior to adjudication of the disciplinary charges against her, respondent filed a petition to permanently resign from the practice of law in lieu of discipline pursuant to Supreme Court Rule XIX, § 20.1. The ODC has concurred in respondent's request for permanent resignation.

Having carefully reviewed the pleadings, we will grant the petition and allow respondent to permanently resign from the practice of law in lieu of discipline.

DECREE

For the reasons assigned, the petition of Laura T. Marler, Louisiana Bar Roll number 23327, is hereby granted. Pursuant to the express provisions of Supreme Court Rule XIX, § 20.1, Laura T. Marler shall be permanently prohibited from practicing law in Louisiana or in any other jurisdiction in which she is admitted to the practice of law; shall be permanently prohibited from seeking readmission to the practice of law in this state or in any other jurisdiction in which she is admitted; and shall be permanently prohibited from seeking admission to the practice of law in any jurisdiction.
