IN RE: Trina Trinhthi CHU
By judgment dated December 13, 2024, we disbarred respondent. Respondent filed a timely application for rehearing from that judgment. On January 31, 2025, we returned that application to respondent due to the use of insulting language in violation of Supreme Court Rule VII, § 7. Our order permitted respondent “to file a revised application for rehearing which conforms with all Supreme Court Rules and applicable laws within fifteen days of the date of this order” and provided “[i]f no revised application that conforms to the Supreme Court Rules is filed by the deadline, the judgment shall become final.”
On February 17, 2025, respondent filed a revised application for rehearing. Although this filing was made within the deadline, it continues to contain insulting criticism of this court and its members in violation of Supreme Court Rule VII, § 7. The filing is therefore not in conformity with the applicable Supreme Court Rules as mandated by our January 31, 2025 order.
Because the revised application for rehearing is not in compliance with our January 31, 2025 order, it is not properly before the court and is without effect. Accordingly, this court's judgment of December 13, 2024 is now final.
PER CURIAM
Weimer, C.J., would grant in part. Hughes, J., would grant in part. Griffin, J., would grant in part. McCallum, J., recused.
