IN RE: Irvin Joseph CELESTINE, Jr.
ATTORNEY DISCIPLINARY PROCEEDING
Respondent was twice arrested on drug-related charges. He subsequently failed to cooperate with the Office of Disciplinary Counsel (“ODC”) in its investigation. Following the filing of formal charges in this matter, respondent and the ODC submitted a joint petition for consent discipline. Having reviewed the petition,
IT IS ORDERED that the Petition for Consent Discipline be accepted and that Irvin Joseph Celestine, Jr., Louisiana Bar Roll number 30871, be suspended from the practice of law for a period of one year. This suspension shall be deferred in its entirety and shall run consecutively to the one year and one day suspension imposed by this court in In re: Celestine, 24-0187 (La. 4/30/24), 383 So. 3d 913.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that all costs and expenses in the matter are assessed against respondent in accordance with Supreme Court Rule XIX, § 10.1, with legal interest to commence thirty days from the date of finality of this court's judgment until paid.
PER CURIAM
Crichton, J., dissents and would reject the proposed discipline as too lenient. McCallum, J., dissents and would reject the proposed discipline as too lenient.
