ATTORNEY DISCIPLINARY PROCEEDING

Respondent engaged in conduct involving instances of domestic violence and simple battery. Prior to the filing of formal charges, respondent and the Office of Disciplinary Counsel submitted a joint petition for consent discipline. Having reviewed the petition,

IT IS ORDERED that the Petition for Consent Discipline be accepted and that C. Kevin Hayes, Louisiana Bar Roll number 21288, be and he hereby is suspended from the practice of law for eighteen months, with all but one year deferred. This suspension shall be retroactive to January 26, 2022, the date of respondent's interim suspension. Following the active period of the suspension, respondent shall be subject to a period of probation to coincide with the terms, conditions, and duration of his Judges and Lawyers Assistance Program agreement.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that all costs and expenses in the matter are assessed against respondent in accordance with Supreme Court Rule XIX, § 10.1, with legal interest to commence thirty days from the date of finality of this court's judgment until paid.
