IN RE: Christie Clark WOOD
Joint petition for consent discipline accepted. See per curiam.
ATTORNEY DISCIPLINARY PROCEEDING
The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (“ODC”) commenced an investigation into allegations that respondent negligently mishandled her client trust account. Prior to the filing of formal charges, respondent and the ODC submitted a joint petition for consent discipline. Having reviewed the petition,
IT IS ORDERED that the Petition for Consent Discipline be accepted and that Christie Clark Wood, Louisiana Bar Roll number 32065, be publicly reprimanded.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that all costs and expenses in the matter are assessed against respondent in accordance with Supreme Court Rule XIX, § 10.1, with legal interest to commence thirty days from the date of finality of this court's judgment until paid.
I would have accepted the original petition for consent discipline, which would have imposed suspension from the practice of law for six months, fully deferred, subject to the condition that the party attend and successfully complete the Louisiana State Bar Association's Trust Accounting School during the deferral period.
GENOVESE, J., dissents and would reject the proposed consent discipline as too lenient and would require a fully deferred six-month suspension.
Weimer, C.J., dissents and assigns reasons. Genovese, J., dissents and assigns reasons.
