STATE of Louisiana v. Antoine EDWARDS
BACKGROUND
The relator, Antoine Edwards, has filed a pro se application for supervisory writ seeking post conviction relief. The instant handwritten pleading appears to be entitled “Petition for Writ of Error Review, Memorandum in Support Motion to Order Court to Grant Due Process Hearing, Evidentiary Hearing, Contradictory Hearing for day in Court, Motion for Reconsideration Adjudication on the Merits” and appears to have been mailed on or about September 11, 2026 and received by this Court on September 16, 2026. The most-recent entry in the district court's Clerk Connect minutes reflects that on September 2, 2026, the district court received a pleading labeled “Direct to District Judge Chamber District Attorney Office.” The district court did not act on the pleading, noting that relator had “exhausted all post conviction relief.”
DISCUSSION
Relator's two convictions for second-degree murder and life sentences were affirmed in State v. Edwards, 2021-0494 (La. App. 4 Cir. 2/16/22), 336 So.3d 479, and the Supreme Court denied writs. State v. Edwards, 2022-00472 (La. 5/10/22), 337 So.3d 908. Since the finality of his appeal less than five years ago, relator has filed over 20 handwritten, confusing pleadings, none of which have yielded substantive relief.1
Relator's instant pleading also fails to show that he is entitled to any post conviction relief. Accordingly, this wit is denied.
