STATE of Louisiana v. Willie THOMAS
WRIT GRANTED FOR LIMITED PURPOSE
The relator, Willie Thomas, seeks review of his sentence for second degree murder, imposed following a 1975 conviction. It is well established, pursuant to La. Const. 1974, Art. V, § 5(E), that the Louisiana Supreme Court has exclusive jurisdiction of all matters pertaining to criminal convictions and sentences occurring prior to July 1, 1982. Accordingly, the relator's writ application is granted for the limited purpose of transferring it to the Louisiana Supreme Court for disposition.
