The FLORIDA BAR, Petitioner(s) v. Christopher CARLO, Respondent(s)
CORRECTED ORDER 1
This is before the Court on The Florida Bar's Petition for Contempt and Order to Show Cause.
The “Notice of Substitution of Counsel,” treated as a motion to withdraw as attorney of record for respondent, is hereby granted. The “Motion to Permit Pro Bono Counsel to File a Response to the Petition” is hereby denied.
The Court having issued its Order to Show Cause to respondent and respondent having failed to file a response to said Order to Show Cause,
IT IS ORDERED that respondent is held in contempt of this Court's orders in Florida Board of Bar Examiners Re: C.C., 181 So.3d 454 (Fla. 2015), and Florida Board of Bar Examiners Re: C.C., Case No. SC19-1067 (Fla. July 11, 2019). As a sanction, respondent's conditional admission is revoked, effective thirty days from the date of this order so that respondent can close out his practice and protect the interests of existing clients. If respondent notifies this Court in writing that he is no longer practicing and does not need the thirty days to protect existing clients, this Court will enter an order making the revocation effective immediately. Respondent shall thereafter not be a member of The Florida Bar and shall not engage in the practice of law in the State of Florida.
Respondent shall pay the outstanding monitoring fees in the amount of $300.00, to The Florida Bar within thirty days of this order.
Judgment is entered for The Florida Bar, 651 East Jefferson Street, Tallahassee, Florida 32399-2300, for recovery of costs from Christopher Carlo in the amount of $1,250.00, for which sum let execution issue.
CANADY, C.J., and POLSTON, LABARGA, LAWSON, MUÑIZ, COURIEL, and GROSSHANS, JJ., concur.
