THE FLORIDA BAR Complainant v. ERIKA DANIELLE DE JESUS Respondent
PUBLIC REPRIMAND
Erika Danielle De Jesus, the Supreme Court of Florida, by order dated August 14, 2025, has directed that you receive a public reprimand administered in writing by the undersigned referee in this disciplinary proceeding
You were found to be in violation of Rules 3-4.3, 4-1.8(a), 4-8.4(a) and 4-8.4(d) of the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar
While employed as an associate attorney, you engaged in a conflict of interest. After acting as a witness to the decedent's Last Will and Testament, you purchased the largest asset of the estate, real property in Orlando, Florida, without negotiation of the sale price. You did not notify the probate court or the beneficiaries that you were an employee of the personal representative. The purchase took place many months after you witnessed the Last Will and Testament and the requirement to give notice to interested persons and the probate court remained
Your conduct shows a disregard for the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar. Your failure to live up to your professional and ethical obligations under the Rules of The Florida Bar reflects not only on you, but on the integrity and competence of all members of the legal profession. By engaging in such conduct, you have demeaned the legal profession, and such conduct will not be tolerated. The members of your profession have the right to expect that you will conduct yourself in a manner that will support respect for the legal profession and instill public confidence in lawyers and the legal system
This reprimand is now a part of your permanent Florida Bar record You are further advised that while this reprimand does not affect your privilege of practicing law, further misconduct will. The lawyers of Florida expect your future conduct to always be in compliance with your oath and the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar
