Scihonor Bey v. Allah Bey
MEMORANDUM OF DECISION
The parties intermarried in New York City (Bronx) on 7/30/03. The wife's birth name was Elise Cruz. There are two minor children issue of the marriage, El Adon S. Bey, born 1/15/2000 and SciDey D.A.Bey, born May 29, 2001. The court has the requisite jurisdiction and neither of the parties is or has been the recipient of state assistance.
The marriage has broken down irretrievably.
The wife is 32 and the husband is 36. It is a relatively short marriage. Since the assets are very limited it would serve no purpose to explain the cause for the breakdown of the marriage.
Orders
The court has carefully considered all of the criteria set forth in Connecticut General Statutes §§ 46b-81 and 46b-82 in entering its orders. It has also considered the assets, liabilities, income, and expenses.
1. The marriage has broken down irretrievably and is dissolved.
2. The husband shall pay alimony in the amount of $60.00 per week for a period of three years from date of judgment unless wife cohabits or renames.
3. The husband shall pay child support in the amount of $216.00 per week pursuant to the Child Support Guidelines.
4. The husband and wife shall have joint custody of the two minor children with physical custody to the plaintiff. The parties have established a parenting plan attached hereto and marked Court Exhibit A.*
5. The wife shall quitclaim any and all interest in the parties' joint real estate located at 1131 Noble Avenue, Bridgeport, Connecticut to the husband and the husband shall be responsible for all legal obligations relative thereto, i.e., mortgage and/or taxes.
6. Any income tax refund for the 2010 taxable year shall be equally divided by the parties.
7. The parties have divided their personal assets.
8. The wife shall elect medical insurance coverage pursuant to COBRA and husband shall pay one-half (1/2) of her premiums for three years.
9. Each party shall be responsible for the debts set forth on their respective affidavits.
10. The 2006 KIA shall be the exclusive property of the wife and the 2007 Ford the exclusive property of the husband.
11. The personal property and bank accounts shall be the exclusive property of each as set forth on their affidavits.
12. The $500,000 New York Life Insurance Policy shall be the exclusive property of the husband. However, he shall designate the parties' two minor children as beneficiaries of $250,000 until each has attained the age of 24.

14. The court finds that any sums advanced by defendant's mother for the purchase of the parties' home were in fact a gift pursuant to letter directed to lending institution.
15. The defendant has appropriated furniture and personalty owned jointly by the parties. He shall pay the plaintiff $1500.00 within 60 days from the date of judgment.
