JEMAL LESLIE SIMMONS, Appellant, v. THE STATE OF NEVADA, Respondent.
ORDER OF AFFIRMANCE
Jemal Leslie Simmons appeals from an order of the district court denying a motion to correct an illegal sentence filed on April 2, 2022. Eighth Judicial District Court, Clark County; Eric Johnson, Judge.
In his motion, Simmons claimed the district court sentenced him to a prison term of 18 to 48 months but that High Desert State Prison erroneously informed him he was serving a prison term of 18 to 72 months. Simmons requested that the district court correct his sentence and impose a prison term of 18 to 48 months. Simmons claim fell outside the narrow scope of claims permissible in a motion to correct an illegal sentence. See Edwards v. State, 112 Nev. 704, 708, 918 P.2d 321, 324 (1996). Therefore, without considering the merits of Simmons’ claim, we conclude the district court did not err by denying the motion. Accordingly, we
ORDER the judgment of the district court AFFIRMED.
