ORDER DISMISSING APPEAL

This is a pro se appeal from a district court order denying a “petition for leave of court to permit filing of court papers” filed on March 7, 2023.¹ Eighth Judicial District Court, Clark County; Crystal Eller, Judge.

No statute or court rule permits an appeal from the aforementioned order. See Castillo v. State, 106 Nev, 349, 352, 792 P.2d 1133, 1135 (1990) (explaining that this court has jurisdiction only when statute or court rule provides for appeal). Accordingly, this court lacks jurisdiction, and we

ORDER this appeal DISMISSED.

1.   We note that the notice of appeal indicates Downing appeals from an April 24, 2023, ruling denying a postconviction habeas petition. The district court did not deny a postconviction habeas petition on April 24, 2023; rather, the district court denied Downing's petition for leave to file his postconviction habeas petition and notice of entry of the district court's order was filed on April 24, 2023.
