United States Supreme Court
Miller v. Alabama, 10-9646
In consolidated petitions for habeas corpus relief, where both petitioners were convicted of murder at the age of 14 and sentenced to a mandatory term of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole, denial of petition is reversed and remanded where the Eighth Amendment forbids a sentencing scheme that mandates life in prison without possibility of parole for juvenile homicide offenders.
