United States First Circuit

US v. IACABONI, 02-2141

District court's decision to forfeit the payouts to winning gamblers is consonant with the purposes of 18 U.S.C. section 1956(a)(1)(A)(i); amounts paid to winning phone-in bettors were fairly calculated; forfeiture of checks paid by one bettor is reversed, as it is based on a concealment money laundering theory not included in the indictment.
