CALIFORNIA FOOD AND AGRICULTURAL CODE SECTION 2301-2302 
2301.  A county veterinarian may be appointed by the board of
supervisors whenever the public welfare demands the services of such
veterinarian.


2302.  The veterinarian shall serve at the pleasure of the board of
supervisors.
