CALIFORNIA ELECTIONS CODE SECTION 6160 
6160.  At least 60 days before a presidential primary, the Secretary
of State shall notify each steering committee whether or not it has
qualified a candidate or uncommitted delegation for placement on the
ballot pursuant to Section 6060.
